Simple Pleasures: #Pinch Me

Intricate

This week’s simple pleasures.

1).  Being asked out on a breakfast date by my 16-year-old on her day off from school.  #Pinch me!

(BTW-if you are ever in Seal Beach, Ca., I highly recommend a stop by the Crema Cafe for breakfast or lunch…a tasty spot!)

2.)  Beer Tasting:  I am not a real wine drinker but I love a good craft beer.  Being able to try some new ones with friends was a treat.

3.)  I was able to get out to see a movie last week.  The movie St. Vincent, with Bill Murray,  was an absolute gem.  I highly recommend it!  A simple cheese ball story with fantastic acting.  I’m a sucker for cheese!

4.)  In planning a trip back east, I called the concierge for our hotel in Boston to get advice about transportation.  After a few minutes, we discover we are both from San Bernardino, Ca.  I have NEVER run across anyone from my same hometown.  I was convinced no one ever made it out.

5.)  In lieu of surfing last week because of the high tide I instead went beach combing.  The beach was littered with shells.  It was such bliss listening to the hum of the crashing waves and feeling the coarse sand under my feet while admiring nature’s handiwork.

  1. One of my favorite things, now that I’m a dog person, is to go to dog beach with Jackson and Delilah. While they play in the water I walk up and done our shore and listen to the water hit the sand and shells and roll back out. Your picture reminded me I haven’t been in a week or two. Love your posts-

  2. I spent the last 2 mornings in my garden. Pruning, raking, weeding… generally making it what I want it to be. A cup of tea in my comfy garden chair with the sun on my face, it really doesn’t take much to please me!

    • Just reading that made me smile! What a great way to spend your mornings! Life is really pretty awesome all on it’s own…it reminds me to stop chasing happiness and just let it find me!
