I am all about simple.  Especially when it comes to DIY projects or anything crafty.  So these simple do-it-yourself breast cancer ornaments are as about as simple as you can get. They’re so easy it’s almost embarrassing, but they still come out super cute.  Especially if you like pink. 😉

Here are the materials I used:

  1. Ornaments: 1 Clear Ball, Frosted Ball Ornaments, Clear Plastic Hearts
  2. Assorted Ribbon
  3. Pink and Silver Sequins
  4. Pink Gemstones-some in shape of a ribbon some individual
  5. Paint (just in case)

When I start I usually have a vague idea of what I want it to look like.  Sometimes it comes out like my vision and sometimes not.  Since I have not traditionally been the crafty type, I get a lot of help from Pinterest!

I saw the frosted ornaments on the ornament girl website.

For the frosted ornaments, I took the pre made gemstone ribbons and just slapped them on.  Then I used a pink ribbon to tie around the top. Done!  That’s it! See-embarassingly easy but cute and to the point!

The inspiration for the clear ornaments came from my beautiful surf sister Candace.  Every Christmas she makes ornaments for myself and our other friends that we surf with.  Being the amazing artist that she is, hers are hand painted.  Something I am not quite ready to try.  Baby steps right?

For the clear ball and hearts, I filled about 1/3 of the way with pink, purple and silver sequins.  We all like sparkly stuff right?  Then I used the individual gemstones to embellish the outside of the ornament.  On some I spelled out p-i-n-k and on some I made them into small breast cancer ribbons.  I finished them off with a ribbon tied on top.  That’s it! Easy peasy lemon squeezy!

I ended up deciding to not use the paint.  I am a firm believer in less is more.

So there you have it.  Super simple breast cancer ornaments that can be made in less than 15 minutes.

Thanks for gettin’ your craft on with me!

Salty Pink Kisses,

Karen

  1. Love, love, love this idea!! Personalized ornaments make wonderful gifts and you get to revisit them each holiday. Michaels has the clear bulbs which we have used to make home made gifts. Imagine what Pink trinkets you could find to send an annual awareness gift.
    Heartfelt thank you to Karen!!
