Easy DIY Vintage Jar for Breast Cancer Awareness

For my goal to do one thing each day in October to promote breast cancer awareness, my 31 Days of Pink, I decided to make easy DIY vintage looking mason jars.  They are perfect as a candle holder and the pink hue fits right in with the breast cancer awareness theme.

I got the idea and directions online.

These jars are so easy to make it’s crazy.

Here are the materials I used:

Pink Vintage Mason Jar Materials

  • 2 glass mason jars (I found some cute ones with handles that I really liked.)
  • Mod Podge
  • Pink food coloring

That’s it! Minimal materials!  Right up my alley!

After covering the work surface, I mixed about a cup of mod podge with the pink food coloring.  I used several drops but you can add as much as you want depending on how deep you want the color.  I maybe could have used a little more.

Apply the pink mod podge with a paint brush or sponge all over the inside of the jar.  Taking care to flip the jar upside down every so often so the mod podge doesn’t drip down and pool at the bottom.

As it dries a little, keep layering the mod podge.  I let them dry overnight and then added more coats of color.  You can do this until you reach the color you desire.

That’s it! Easy, peasy, lemon squeezy!

This was super easy, turned out cute, and is something that I will actually use.

Salty pink kisses,

Karen
